This Women’s History Month, join us to celebrate the valuable contributions of women shaping the architectural landscape. Hear from Nicole Hilton, Carissa Oyedele, and Emily Schickner, three trailblazing architects, who will share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs in the design industry.

During an engaging panel discussion moderated by Namrata Dani, the speakers will delve into their experiences of overcoming career roadblocks and nurturing success.

    Panelist

    Nicole is the founding principal and design architect at Cole Hil, an emerging full-service architectural design firm focused on education, community development, and commercial project types. Nicole is originally from Austin, Texas, and received her professional architectural degree from Louisiana State University.

  • Carissa Oyedele, AIA

    Panelist

    As a leader, project manager, and architect in Corgan’s Education Studio in Atlanta, Carissa brings vast experience in international and domestic architectural design, with a focus on education. She is passionate about transforming underserved communities through the built environment and prioritizes Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the core of her approach. Carissa is actively involved in her community and has been recognized as a designer and industry leader with multiple awards.

    Panelist

    Emily joined Harrison Design in 2017, serving as project architect and director, and in 2021, promoted to the firm’s first female principal architect. She is known for her expertise in and passion for the field of mental health and architecture, mentorship to emerging professionals, and activism for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts in the profession and community.

    Moderator

    Namrata is a Project Architect in Corgan’s Education studio out of Atlanta. Namrata is a scholar of the AIA Georgia Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Class of 2022, and the Co-Chair of AIA Georgia’s Equity in Architecture committee. Given her childhood in India, she’s passionate about advancing underrepresented voices to the design table and has focused her efforts to forge ahead equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in the profession through the AIA.
