mafi hosts “Designing Green and Healthy Built Environments with Natural Wood Flooring,” a course about the health benefits of natural wood in the built environment. Participants will learn about biophilic design and how wood improves indoor air quality, overall health, sleep, and stress reduction. The course also covers the sustainability of wood and carbon sequestration. Finally, participants will discover the benefits of manufacturing without the use of any harmful chemicals.

- Understand the role of hardwoods in biophilic design and its effect on the health and welfare of those who occupy our built spaces.
- Understand the importance of wood flooring certification using the highest standards for sustainability and ecological biodiversity.
- Discuss how natural wood floors can be easily maintained without the use of plastic finishes that can contain hazardous chemicals.
- Explain how natural wood flooring sequesters carbon for generations to come.
- Explain the basics of wood movement and how appropriate installation and humidity control determine the lifespan of nature.
